The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead is investing a further £1.7m into our roads across the borough over the next year.
The new funding comes on top of the £7.7m already invested into improving the highway network as part of the 2018/19 budget.
Part of the extra £1.7m will to go towards a pilot scheme called ‘Find and Fix’, which is designed to shorten response times and complete minor repairs and act on issues such as overgrown highway verges and flytipping more quickly.
We believe that investing in our roads is crucial to deliver a dynamic local economy, ensure our emergency services can respond quickly, and allow parents to safely drop their children off at school.
We are all aware that the extremely cold winter weather had a severely negative impact on the surface of our roads. To respond to this impact of the extreme cold, your Conservative councillors will look to increase our road surfacing improvement programme on top of the additional £240,000 we secured from central government to repair potholes. You can always trust the Conservatives to deliver substantial investment into our road network because we know it is top priority for you.
This investment is part of our transport strategy, which will drive economic growth across the borough and deliver the infrastructure improvements we need to ensure we ease congestion on our roads.
In the video above you can see what the investment will mean in Cox Green. Similar improvements and big resurfacing projects will be happening across RBWM.
Remember you can report any problems you see with our roads here: https://www3.rbwm.gov.uk/report - together we can all ensure our roads are well looked after and maintained.
